Indonesia has been hit by two consecutive earthquakes

JAKARTA, March 16, 2022.
Indonesia’s Agency for Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics reported two consecutive earthquakes that were felt in western Java, CNN Indonesia reported.

The first earthquake with a magnitude of 3.2 occurred on March 15 at 23:51 West Indonesia time. The epicenter of the quake was centered on land about 21 kilometers from Garut District. The earthquake’s source was located at a depth of 17 km.

The second earthquake of magnitude 3.6 occurred at 23:53 West Indonesian time. The earthquake’s epicenter was located 17 km away from Bandung.

It should be reminded that Indonesia is located in seismically active zone of the globe, at the junction of three lithospheric plates.
