One-meter-high tsunami detected in Japan after earthquake

A one-meter-high tsunami wave was recorded in Japan’s Miyagi Prefecture, the Japan Meteorological Agency reported March 16.

A tsunami threat has been declared after a 7.3 magnitude earthquake occurred northeast of Japan in the Pacific Ocean.

The source of seismic shocks was located at a depth of 60 kilometers.

Strong earthquakes were felt in several prefectures in the northeastern and northern parts of Japan.

No victims and destructions have been reported so far.
